Charging a Tesla in Lynchburg: Home Setup and Where to Supercharge

Thinking about a used Tesla but not sure how charging works around Lynchburg? The short version: most owners charge at home overnight and rarely think about it. Here's what you need to know.

Charging at home

A Tesla Wall Connector is the fastest home option, adding up to about 44 miles of range per hour depending on the car. It mounts on your garage wall and is the cleanest setup if you're installing something new.

For either 240-volt option, use a licensed electrician. They'll check whether your panel has room and handle any permit your locality requires.

One thing to ask when buying used: Tesla stopped including a Mobile Connector with new cars in 2022, so a used Tesla may or may not come with one. Ask the seller before you buy.

Supercharging around Lynchburg

For road trips, Tesla's Supercharger network does the planning for you. Enter a destination in the car's navigation and it will route you through Superchargers along the way and show how many stalls are open.

Locally, Tesla has a Lynchburg Supercharger on Wards Road, near the airport. It's handy if you need a quick top-up on the south side of town or you're heading down 29.

Supercharging costs more than charging at home, and Tesla's prices vary by location and time of day. The car and the Tesla app show the current price before you plug in.
