How buying a used Tesla from Hill City Hot Rods works
You're not buying from Tesla, so here's what happens with the warranty, the Tesla app, service and charging — straight from Tesla's own published terms.
The factory warranty stays with the car
Tesla says its New Vehicle Limited Warranty follows the vehicle and transfers to the new owner when the ownership transfer is performed through Tesla — the app step below. Whatever time and mileage remain carry over to you.

The battery warranty also guarantees at least 70% of battery capacity over the warranty period. Coverage starts on the car's original in-service date, so each Tesla's page shows how much it has left. Moving the car into your Tesla app
- In the Tesla app, open the menu and tap My Products, then Add Product.
- Enter the VIN and follow the prompts.
- Upload a photo ID and proof of ownership — the bill of sale, the title or your temporary registration.
Tesla says it can take up to 48 hours. Until then you can still charge at home, at Destination chargers and at third-party stations; Supercharging switches on once the transfer is complete. Full Self-Driving (Supervised) that was purchased stays with the car, but a subscription, Supercharging credits and other upgrades tied to the previous owner's account may not transfer. Many repairs can be booked as Tesla Mobile Service in the Tesla app — a technician comes to your home or work. How Mobile Service works
Tesla says warranty repairs need a Tesla Service Center; everyday maintenance and non-warranty work — tires, alignment, wipers, cabin filters — can go to any shop you like. The nearest Tesla Service Centers to Lynchburg are each roughly a two-hour drive:
